Blade Strangers: A Hardcore Old-School Fighting Game
Blade Strangers is an action-packed game developed by Studio Saizensen and published by Nicalis for the PlayStation 4. The story revolves around a malevolent force called Lina, which is devouring data from a vast network of servers overseen by sentient computers called motes. In a bid to save their world, the motes summon heroes from various parallel game worlds to engage in one-on-one combat. The winner of the tournament will become the Blade Stranger, who can save the motes and defeat Lina.
Blade Strangers boasts a streamlined four-button control scheme, making it easy for beginners to deal out damage from day one. However, the intricate combos, counters, and specials provide tournament-caliber players with plenty of opportunities for frame counting, chain construction, and hit-box science. The fighter roster includes characters from previous Studio Saizensen games, Nicalis games, and other surprise entrants. Each character has eight different color settings and their own familiar "home" stage. The proprietary development system transforms 3-D models and animation into 2-D spritework, making every frame look like a gorgeous anime drawing. The game also features online competition play, and accessible controls designed to bring fresh blood to the ranks of fighting-game fans worldwide.
